There is grace for those who are working to earn something that has already been freely offered or to be good for goodness' sake, but that is truly pitiful and exemplary of one who has not yet received the gracious spirit of God.

One other thing, Jesus addresses those believers who pursue material wealth as being spiritually poor and in rags. He loves all ppl, whether rich or poor and knows how to approach each in accordance to where He finds them.

Later,
3MManifesting Mini Me (MMM)https://www.blogger.com/profile/08250513504254425163noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21219785.post-51937500739534900882009-12-18T22:00:35.221-05:002009-12-18T22:00:35.221-05:00Mary (in bed with Joseph): Oh God, Oh God, Oh God,...Mary (in bed with Joseph): Oh God, Oh God, Oh God, I’m coming!

Joseph: Damn it, Mary, you’re not still seeing Him, are you?
___________________________

As soon as Jesus was old enough to speak, his Mom told him, “You’re the son of God. When you were born the angel came, and the star stood in one place, the wise men brought gifts, and the whole world’s been waiting for you to come and do great things.”

And the little boy Jesus said, “Really, me? Are you sure?”

Everybody but Joseph. Joseph’s walking around going, “Yeah, you better be the son of God, I’ll tell you that. You had better be him little mister. And you better be the ONLY son of God. You understand what I’m saying, honey? I got enough problems without running a family full of God’s kids, O.K.? You sure it was God, right? Did He have any I.D.? He just said he was an angel and you guys went in the garden? Last time I take a job out of town, I’ll tell you that.”

Talk about a test of the guy’s faith. You know he’s doing his carpentry and his co-workers are going, “Oh, Joseph, how’s the…uh… son of God?” (Laughter.)

“You shut your mouth, shut up!”

(Joseph to Mary) “You don’t know what I go through at work, honey! Can you imagine a star standing over any house? Can you imagine a star standing over the earth even? If any star came anywhere near the earth, it would immediately disarrange the whole solar system.

Clarence Darrow, “Agnostic Because I Must Reason”Edwardtbabinskihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13036816926421936940noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21219785.post-46349351048904127182009-12-18T18:23:54.114-05:002009-12-18T18:23:54.114-05:00"Divine sperm" ftw."Divine sperm" ftw.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21219785.post-31005874998199133162009-12-18T18:01:48.651-05:002009-12-18T18:01:48.651-05:00Double A said...

And how, pray tell, did the children avoid original sin? Well, kind sir, in my faith, those children are welcomed by Jesus with open arms and their hearts are pure. The last will be first, my friend. That doesn't mean I'm glad they suffered. But I do know the light is bright upon them, and they're pain is no longer.Double Ahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01155106167479411948noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21219785.post-24094886196603798872009-12-18T15:30:59.161-05:002009-12-18T15:30:59.161-05:00I don't really understand how this is offensiv...I don't really understand how this is offensive.

The implication is that Mary had consensual, post-marital sex with her husband.

Even if Catholics thought that this claim was wrong, it doesn't seem like an attack on Mary's character in any way.Richardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16929722353413887802noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21219785.post-12101188792120992982009-12-18T13:01:07.781-05:002009-12-18T13:01:07.781-05:00Not to mention that Mary would have had a pretty b...Not to mention that Mary would have had a pretty boring sex life what with having only had sex with a ghost that one time.busterggihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02146221182670363053noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21219785.post-85192868575054024552009-12-18T11:28:12.233-05:002009-12-18T11:28:12.233-05:00The virgin birth story doesn't appear in the o...The virgin birth story doesn't appear in the oldest gospel of Mark and it appears nowhere in Paul's letters. It is obviously a second generation Christian invention.

The appeal of Christianity to the poor in the beginning was a chance at immortality and living in a bejeweled city with gold streets. Why that city should have walls is a mystery to me unless they planned on eternal invaders from outside.

Anyway, the idea of being rich is what appealed to the poor and because of their short lives at hard labor, immortality was also attractive.

The pre-millennialist view of the early Christians was also attractive. They would be rich, immortal, priests and kings and rule the world for a thousand years.

Since that time, Christianity simply became a meme. That is, it became a mind virus that gets passed on from generation to generation.

Unfortunately for the rest of the world, this sickness was forced upon it for over a thousand years in the most savage and barbaric ways.

In spite of its appeal to the poor, it is the poor that it takes advantage of and uses to perpetuate the myth.Corkyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15894537940881776504noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21219785.post-41796064906797702122009-12-18T10:37:13.970-05:002009-12-18T10:37:13.970-05:00streetpreacher your link is hilarious, especially ...streetpreacher your link is hilarious, especially the Maury Povich cartoon!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21219785.post-38932896330943304012009-12-18T08:34:58.697-05:002009-12-18T08:34:58.697-05:00Well put, John.
