A Rare Picture of Me Without My Cowboy Hat, and an Interview

In the picture I was pretty much sauced at the recent Texas Freethought Convention, which was absolutely wonderful! I sobered up for the interview a week or more later with the Oklahoma Atheists podcast. *hiccup* Enjoy.

Is that a Bud Light in your hand John?

Shhhhhhh. No one must know.

I think it's a Miller Lite. Much better than Bud.

Shucks, I don't remember, now why is that?

The Bible definitely at times can sound like myth. It has for me anyway. If you look at it the way some evangelicals look at other miracle stories. Sometimes it does make me wonder why God never talks back to me or why I've never seen the sea part or heard a donkey talk. Things like that don't seem to happen today. Not in my life anyway.

I think I go along with the Reformers that miracles like that have ceased today. I could be wrong though.

I believe God has given us reason and science to help ourselves and others and I think medicine is a good thing.

@ Cole:

No miracles, either.

No prophets.

Nobody who hears voices is taken seriously except within destructive cults.

I don't like any of those nasty lites. It's Michelob AmberBock for me.

All kinds of product placement in that photo. Eric is evidently supporting the Skeptic softball team, and John is wearing the outsider test t-shirt.

Thanks to both of them for the podcast!

Though I didn't get to hear your talk (being away from the goings on and instead being over in the Taste of Camp Quest room all day), it was great chatting with you some in the evening.

I think I vaguely recall that bit about you the oklahomaatheists mentions: "(and part-time pool shark)".

Should I have grabbed my cues from my car and found a decent table while you were down in Texas, would you have joined? I expect we could have enticed some of our bar table, particularly Terry, into to that as well.

Product placement?

Who would ever do such a thing?

Philip, nice to talk with you as well, but you'd have to be really good at pool just to have a chance against me, and I'm serious.

To either have a chance or have a chance at learning something new while having a fun and good conversation. Either way, I say I'd win.
