Christianity and Changing One's Politics

When Christians teach their children their politics just as if it's the same thing as Christianity itself, they set themselves up for disaster. For if a whole generation of young people abandon their indoctrinated politics they will also abandon their religious faith.

When phrased as a warning or a negative instruction, it cautions us against tying our livelihood, reputation, or hopes to a volatile, unreliable leader or false trend; in this case, one's religion.
