I'll Be Attending the Christian Apologetics 2008 Conference.

Does this sound crazy or what? I personally know some of the speakers. This should be interesting. Into the lion's den I go. Maybe I'll get saved? I do this so you don't have to. If you're attending, look for the guy with a black hat. Yep, that's me. The bad boy in the crowd. ;-) Link. I'm scraping the bottom my checkbook to go. If you could, please help me out financially for this. Just click on the donate button. I'll report on what I learn when I get back.

John, I would love to be there with ya. I think the two that I would most like to hear are Gary Habermas's "The Resurrection Evidence that Changed Recent Scholarship" and Paul Copan's "Why All the Suffering in the World?" What is this evidence that "changed" recent scholarship? Who composes this scholarship that has changed? I already have an idea of what Copan will have to say but would be interested to see if he has anything new.

Reading the FAQ, it seems like they are inviting people to bring their family, so it's probably going to be dumbed down Christian apologetics... Surely at this point you've heard it 1 million time the "If there is no God, there is NO OBJECTIVE VALUE OMG." and the "There is suffering because of THE FALL and God HAS A PLAN FOR HUMANITY"?

Personally I wouldn't be able to tolerate those snake-oil sellers more than 5 minutes.

Does this mean you're going to be the Devil's Advocate?

I think I know what evidence changed recent scholarship.

It is that recent scholarship changed.

And this evidence changed recent scholarship.

But Habermas can explain that better than me.

Steve, I agree. I think the arguments on both sides continue to get better and better, but in the end we're always on top. See this.
