Dr. Hector Avalos on Darwin and Nazi Ideology
I just uploaded a two part essay of Hector's on this subject since he refers to it in chapter fourteen of The Christian Delusion. If you haven't read it yet check it out. I had one literalist attempting to explain to me that atheist evolution necessarily leads to things like Nazi holocausts. He wasn't keen on me pointing out Hitler's creationist views, that the foot soldiers of the Reich marched across Europe with "GOTT MIT UNS" as a shiny part of their uniform (God With Us), and scientific evolution generally ended up on the banned books lists from the Reich's censors.
This is a far more thorough debunking of this nonsense that Nazism was somehow a result of Darwinism as opposed to the antisemitic forces within Christianity and Christian cultures for centuries. A very good read. It'd be nice if the "gods honest truth" about the holocaust were taught in schools, with Christian antisemitism playing the full role it actually played in the horror.
But we can barely get school boards to keep pulpits out of science classes... so I won't hold my breath.
