"The Christian Delusion" Broke the 500th Mark on Amazon

You'll just have to forgive me here but I'm very excited. The anthology The Christian Delusion: Why Faith Fails, just broke the 500th mark in its debut on Amazon:

And in case you want to see something else, look at this:

I ordered the book yesterday. They said it would be delivered between May 3- May 13th. Just today I received an email update stating that the order will be shipped sooner and arrive around April 12th. Get your copy today.

Will thee be an e-book version? Kindle? Nook? Sony?

SI, I think so, eventually. Click on the Amazon button to ask for a Kindle version.

It was at 660 when I last checked. Terrific!!!

Again, thanks for your work in this book, Hector. I updated the image. Remember, it's just a debut showing. Who knows where it'll rank in a month or two or more.

John,

I noticed your page at http://secweb.infidels.org/?kiosk=authors&id=795 could do with updating for even more coverage!

I look forward to reading TCD.

Unbelievably TCD is now ranked 530th on Amazon! I updated the image just now.

This is completely unexpected. I'm stunned.

Why would you rate your own book? Isn't that a tad distasteful?

Anonymous said...

Chris, in order to make any comment at all on Amazon the reviewer must rate it.

I basically said why I liked the book and it had very little to do with my own chapters.

I wanted to also place the Table of Contents there since the reader would be interested in them.

Cheers.

Amazon said mine has been shipped. I will leave a review after I read it.

I'm not your biggest fan in the world, John, but sincere grats on your book's success so far. And I hope that B&N carries it because I'm headed out that way tonight.

John,

I knew you before you were rich and famous.

Landon Hedrick said...

Congratulations John. I purchased a copy, and I recommended it to a philosopher friend who subsequently purchased a copy of his own.

By the way, didn't you at one time have a table of contents worked out for another anthology (your third book)? Where did I see that?

Ken, I'll never be rich, but I might be infamous. ;-)

Sorry. Debunking Christianity now takes the longest time to load and display of any of the web pages I visit. It got slower when the format changed. Any reason why.

Chichiri said...

It did.

So far it's quite good indeed. One thing -- you may want to make clear on your TCD website that you do not believe Victor Reppert is actually *lying* when he says he has been taking the OTF since the 70s -- merely mistaken.

Lazarus said...

Ordered mine yesterday, even if only for the OTF and the natural suffering sections, but I'm sure there will be more of value. I will also review the book once I have read it.

Landon, yes, we're waiting for a publisher to accept it right now. It has an all star line up.

Landon Hedrick said...

Can you remind me where that table of contents was, I'm curious about taking another look at it. Or did you take it down until it gets accepted for publication?

Anonymous said...

Landon, it's still up. See it here. I just changed my mind about linking to it until it's accepted for publication, which takes some time. Two publishers have stayed away from it at this time because they knew about "The Christian Delusion" (TCD) and didn't want to compete against it with the available buyers. One other publisher said they would look at it in six months or a year after watching the results of TCD. Apparently they expect TCD to do very well and don't want to compete with it. Still another publisher is deciding as I write this.

Well, the Amazon tracking system says my copy was "out for delivery" at 4:00 this morning, but the mailman didn't deliver it . . . tomorrow, I guess. It's traveled from Carnesville GA to Doraville GA to Earth City MO to Columbia MO in 3 days. Guess one more night on a truck isn't going to hurt anything.

Congratulations, well deserved. I just received my copy in the mail today. Can't wait to crack into it.

How about getting out a Kindle edition so that those of us who use Amazon's Kindle can read it?

George, he doesn't have control of that. Click on the "I'd like to read this on Kindle" link on the amazon book page. I did. :)

Is it going to come out on Kindle? I have almost forsaken turning pages.
