Christ Mass

People get offended when "Christmas" is abreviated as "x-mas." Sounds sinister, no?

But I propose the name "Christ-X" - because it is the second part that is so horrific.

What is a "mass?" In the "mass," the "priests" take bread and wine and claim that they turn it into the ACTUAL BODY AND BLOOD OF JESUS THE CARPENTER TURNED PROPHET!

I AM NOT MAKING THIS UP!!!!

Mass? Christ-mass? I should think that any self-respecting Protestant should find the word offensive! But these days, Christians no longer kill eachother over issues of "transubstantiation versus consubstantiation" - those days are apparently behind us....

AS LONG AS YOU BELIEVE THE DOGMA OF THE TRINITY... (an unbiblical idea) then you are IN THE CLUB!

Never mind that the Magi are said to have read the stars to find Jesus... never mind that a star allegedly parked over a crib without so much as singing the baby therein...

Christmas is the celebration of the long reach of an emperor named Constantine... all else is irrelvant.

Christians partake of pagan rituals (lighting up trees, etc) and talk about the "real meaning of Christmas.." - hah!

While atheists enjoy the festivities of a Christian celebration with wild abandonment...

Ah, it is a strange time...

So you think after about 2000 years of people trying to 'debunk christianity' you all are finally going to do it?

Anonymous said...

bring some substance that actually debunks christianity, please....

thanks

A short debunking:

Lu 2:14 Glory to God in the highest, **and on earth peace**, good will toward men.

Did Jesus bring peace to the Middle East? I must have missed it.

The analogy of stirring up violent fire is more on track:

Lu 12:
49 I am come to **send fire on the earth**; and what will I, if it be already kindled?
50 But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished!
51 Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, **Nay; but rather division**:
52 For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.
53 The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

Jesus was born during the Pax Romana - hundreds of years of relative peace and prosperity. This gave way, when Rome became Christian and fostered intolerance and religious wars of aggression around the world.

Right on, Ego! Keep debunkin' strong!!

You all want a debunking? How's this?

The Bible is wrong, and you can't prove it is right; you can't even agree among yourselves on what the idiotic tome means. The Christian God notion itself is self-contradictory and perverse, and you can't come up with one reasonably worth anything but scorn. You pretend God, whatever you mean by that, talks to you, and if you think you hear voices, you can't prove it. You expect us to pay attention to your made-up stories even though you don't make any more sense than any other religious babbler telling made-up stories that conflict with yours. It just doesn't make sense, guys.

I can only hope you learn to tell the truth from the lies someday. It'll be tough when you realize how taken in you were, and you'll be embarrassed by the sorts of things you've said here. But no hard feelings, really... we'll just be happy you're finally awake and aware.

Speedwell,

That was bad. It wasn't a debunking, at all!

woundedego,

So you think because you don't understand a passage of scripture you have debunked christianity?

Anonymous said...

i must of missed something in your thorough debunking?

speedwell, you should really become a writer for DC, you sound just like the rest of the lunatics on this site.

I should think that the promise that Jesus would bring peace on earth has been debunked by history, no?

Anonymous said...

you're right woundedego.... i remembered

"Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men." Luke 2:14

Matthew 10:34
"Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword."

shoot, talk about making a fool out of myself. it was right there in front of me. crazy to think how many other contradictions are in the bible...

on a more serious note:

doesn't look like it's a promise being made.
you are quite clumsy with your interpretations

The thread about "Where is sin" has been moved to my blog, http://bibleshockers.blogspot.com

Can anyone tell me why "peace on earth" is associated with the birth of Jesus?

Revelation describes unspeakable horror "which must soon come to pass" and Catholic-Protestants expect it to get worse, and then escape a horrific end time scenario... (as does Ahmadinajab)...

Anonymous said...

Maybe because God provided a way to have peace with Him...through Jesus.

As far as the Catholic-Protestant thing, okay. Things are bad, and seem to be getting worse. I'm not fixed on a particular 'end-times' scenario. But the mainstream thinks it's a time of when God judges the earth..which still doesn't help your case?

What do the words "peace on earth" mean, if they do not mean that this baby would bring peace?

But the baby grows up and says "I did not come to bring peace. I came to bring violent conflict!"

Anonymous said...

you're confusing an angelic benediction for a promise, hello?

not everybody has 'peace' with God, you can accept or reject

i am done with this one, you can continue grinding... have fun

That was bad. It wasn't a debunking, at all!

No... actually it was something we Internet denizens call an "angry rant." But it was true, nevertheless, and you didn't have a thing to say about it except to clutch your pearls like a dowager aunt and cluck your tongue.

Frankly, if I were in your shoes, I'd be more than mildly offended at the unambiguous charge that I was purposely and openly living and propounding a tissue of lies to myself and the world.

Speedwell,

I have no reason to be offended by any of this... Because you all don't agree with me and think I am wasting my time means nothing to me. All of nature, history, logic, and reason is on my side. That is why 90% of history has believed in a Deity...

Make all the false charges you want. Attack the Bible. Take the Bible out of context and try to use it against me, even though I know it much better than you do. All of this has been done for the last 2000 years and yet Christianity still stands and it always will stand!

But I understand why you are offended. The Bible that I believe calls you a fool for saying there is no God. I am done talking to you and I am going to seek intelligent conversation.

Merry Christmas and I pray that you will find what is true...
